In 2008 I was introduced to pine needle basket weaving and fell in love with the art. It is very relaxing and provides a way for creative expression. I love making something I call “memory baskets.” These baskets are made with a particular person in mind and adorned with something meaningful for that person. I’ve made them for people who have lost loved ones and have put a piece of jewelry or special stone that belonged to them on the basket. If I know the story of the person I am creating the basket about, I will infuse the basket with love and prayers for that special someone while I am making it.
