About Dr. Patty

CA LICENSE #MFC18727

Dr. Patricia BayPatricia L. Bay, Psy.D. is a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist with a private practice in Redding, California. Since 1979 she has loved working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in Shasta, Tehama, Butte, Trinity and Siskiyou Counties, and surrounding areas of northern California. Patricia also conducts trainings and workshops to pass along what she has learned to others.

Prior to private practice, she worked for Child Protective Services doing sexual abuse investigation, and is considered an expert witness in court proceedings.

Patricia married Richard in 1980, and had two daughters and an amazing granddaughter. In 2008, Richard became ill with the terminal brain disease Frontotemporal Degeneration – Behavioral Variant Type (bvFTD). He passed away in January 2016 after battling this horrid illness for eight years. Both Patricia and Richard were committed to educating others about FTD. Richard used to quip “FTD is not a floral delivery.” He was also a believer of the right to choose your own “Death With Dignity” and offered his support in bringing this benefit to the State of California. Patricia continues the quest to educate others, especially mental health professionals, in identifying and understanding Frontotemporal Degeneration. Since 2016, two amazing grandchildren, along with two amazing son-in-laws, have been added to the family. We all know that Rich is watching over everyone from heaven.
