Can You Hear Me Now?
Conflict itself is not a problem. How conflict is handled can create problems. Unhealthy patterns of behavior and unresolved conflict are damaging to relationships and foster an environment of stress and chaos. Constructive conflict resolution increases intimacy in relationships and enhances success in other therapeutic activities. Professionals often stop short of helping couples resolve their communication difficulties and struggle to provide the tools needed for deep, lasting conflict resolution. Relationship therapy cannot be truly effective without the skills to facilitate deep communication and complete resolution of conflict. This one-day seminar teaches effective techniques to achieve complete conflict resolution and cultivate positive changes in all kinds of relationships. Methods to facilitate deeper communication will be explored. Participants will examine the application of cognitive-behavioral and emotionally focused therapies to working with conflict. You will learn how fear works to undermine lives and acquire techniques for overcoming fear and coping with stress associated with conflict. Attendees will leave this workshop with specific strategies to implement immediately.

"MAKING IT LAST FOREVER"
Communication & Conflict Resolution
for Couples
February 19-21, 2010
Patricia L. Bay, Psy.D., Marriage, Family Therapist presents a weekend workshop opportunity.
The tranquility of beautiful McCloud, California just 15 minutes from Mt. Shasta, is an ideal location in which to focus on your relationship. This workshop will work on advanced communication and conflict resolution skills for couples. Dr. Patty wrote her doctorate dissertation on this subject and it is a particular passion of hers. It is easy to communicate with your partner when things are going well. It is when the going gets tough that tempers can rise, people withdraw or often resort to unhealthy practices. The skills to make even the hardest topics workable are yours with good conflict resolution training.
Even the strongest relationships can use a "shot-in-the-arm" once in awhile. Whether yours has been experiencing difficulties or you feel comfortable and content, join us for a weekend of exploration and skill building. This workshop provides a strong degree of privacy for your issues. You will not be asked to disclose personal, couple information in a group setting. Couples will learn techniques and then go off by themselves to practice. Coming back together, couples might share how things went or can ask questions, but do not have to share what they talked about.
Group leader, Dr. Patty and her attorney husband, Richard (married 29 years) brings a wealth of experience to couple recovery, communication and conflict resolution. Call Dr. Patty (530) 241-3642 with questions about the workshop.

Couples Workshop — July 2006
The July 2006 Couples Workshop turned out awesome. We are so proud of all the couples who attended. They worked hard on their relationships and made some wonderful changes. What a tribute they are to relationship preservation!

Here's Patty with one of the Tootsie Pops that have become a tradition, started by "B", at all the workshops.
